Khiva’s landmarks
We will explore Ichan Qala, the Old City protected by defensive walls. We will show the giant unfinished minaret of Kulta Minor, ironically becoming the hallmark of Khiva. As well as numerous madrassas and palaces. In addition, we will enter the thousand-year-old Juma Mosque, decorated with carved columns with different patterns.
Fascinating facts
Without dry figures and endless names we will reveal three thousand years of Khiva’s history.
We will tell how the “fire worshippers” of Khorezm became adherents of Islam. We will share the story of the great scientist Al-Biruni, whose pupil was Avicenna himself. We will explain what isyryk is and why it is burned. You will also learn how khan’s wives and concubines lived in the harem and what intrigues they plotted.
